Citric Acid and Witch Hazel
[Saturday,
December 5th, 2009 at 10:47pm]
I have been looking for citric acid to use to make bath fizzies for christmas presents but I am not having any luck. I would rather get it close to home before thinking about ordering online and waiting even longer etc. Any ideas? I check Michaels, Hobby Lobby and Wal Mart. I think I remember my mom using it to make lollipops when I was little which is why I tried the baking aisles as well as the salts/soaps aisles. Any info is great!
Oh and Witch Hazel too? I have NO clue where to even begin looking for that! I appreciate it!

preparing for sex
[Thursday,
December 3rd, 2009 at 9:55pm]
hey sextips, i'm in need of some advice.
basically, i am a female virgin in my early 20s and i am ready for sex. i haven't done it yet because i haven't had any real boyfriends and i didn't want to lose it so just anyone. while i don't have a bf at the moment, i've been meeting a lot of great guys and could potentially turn into something serious. which brings me to my question:
how can a virgin prepare for sex?
1. someone recommended i get on birth control. i think this is a good idea because i don't want to have kids any time soon and i don't want to be anxious about the condom breaking during sex.
2. someone else suggested that i "practice" with a vibrator. i also like this idea, although i have to admit that im very nervous about this because i've never had anything inside of me larger thank a couple of fingers or a tampon. sooo, if i were to buy a vibrator what kind? size? etc should i get? also where can I buy one online that ships in a discrete plain box?
i would love to hear any other thoughts or suggestions you might have too. i'm sure I will have a lot more questions also, so hopefully this community can help me with those as well :)

Hello everyone! I know this is long overdue, i've been a member of this community since the summer, but i was 'researching' all the work people do, because for my senior show as a fashion major, i'm deconstruct-reconstructing old boy band tshirts (nsync, backstreet boys, and a spice girls too haha). i needed ideas on how to do it and make it look professional, and when i make the final project i'll post it here!
in the meantime, here are some other surgeries and designs i've done which have been inspired here.( follow me )
thank you all again and keep up the amazing work! reworking old shirts is such a necessity in this economy, and youre all so talented at what you do

Does anyone, by any chance, have some Homespun Baby yarn lying around in Soft Violet that they'd be willing to part with? Long story short, I'm about 3/4 of the way through a blanket and was using the Homespun Baby that someone gifted me. Needed more and come to find out that it's discontinued! If anyone can help, I'd be thrilled! Thanks!

Sweater Recon
[Saturday,
December 5th, 2009 at 12:55pm]
Hey guys, I've searched the archives and was unable to find the answer to this. I have several vintage knit sweaters that I want to make smaller and alter. How should I go about this? Is there a certain type of needle and/or stitch length that I should be using? I have only reconstructed things made of "easy" fabric so I have no idea where to even start.
Thanks! -Ashley

I'm in a fairly long-distance relationship whilst I'm in uni. However, I'll be going home for Christmas soon. Out of curiosity..
1. What is something sexually fun you've newly discovered with your partner?
2. What is your fail-safe, always exciting act/position/game/tip?
Just curious, so I can have some new suggestions to possibly try out with boy. Thanks!

skin softness after sex?
[Friday,
December 4th, 2009 at 3:04pm]
I checked the memories and didn't find anything about skin. My s/o and I had really great sex last night, but I didn't quite finish. After the fact, we noticed that my skin was noticeably softer and smoother than it was before, and it lasted for several hours. I doubt there's anything wrong, but has anyone experienced this before, or know why it happens? I'm really curious, mostly because I wish it'd stick around, lol.
Thanks in advance!

Christmas Gift
[Saturday,
December 5th, 2009 at 11:46am]
I made this for a friend for Christmas this year.
I wanted it to have a very crude, children's drawing look to it. It makes me think of a 3D blueprint. I'm quite pleased with the way it turned out.
It's made from a cardboard gift box covered in fleece with both machine-sewn and hand-sewn details.

What are you ladies making the men in your life for the holidays?
I would like to make something for my boyfriend, but I am stumped this year! :(
EDIT: If there are any males or transgendered or genderqueer folk, etc. please feel free to answer. Also "men in your life" does NOT necessarily mean your boyfriend or husband. It means ANY male in your life - fathers, brother, grandfathers, friends, etc.

[Friday,

about 2 years ago, I found a crochet pattern for a hat. my computer died so I no longer have it bookmarked. the hat looked kinda like a bucket hat, it was lime sherbet green with a black ribbon through it. It was worked with fpdc to make a spiral pattern. it wasn't a beret. anyone know the pattern I am taking about? thanks

Easiest Drawstring bag EVER from a t-shirt
[Friday,
December 4th, 2009 at 1:33pm]
I'm a lazy person. When I lived in an apartment, my curtains were always flat sheets - I mean, they come in a million colors and patterns and already have a built-in rod pocket. How simple is that?
Fast-forward several years, and I'm looking for a way to make really fast bags to store my coin belts for belly dancing. I have a gorgeous one I crocheted, but I really don't want to spend that much time for each one (it's amazing how fast you pile up costumes...)
Someone gave me a pile of t-shirts, and suddenly a light bulb went off over my head... I doubt I'm the only one to ever think of it, but since my searching didn't come up with anything like it (or I would have made tons already...):

Space Conscience Organization?
[Friday,
December 4th, 2009 at 11:32am]
My fabric is everywhere! I have 3 apple boxes full of fabric, a box of various ribbons and notions, and a medium/large moving box of remnants. I need a space saving way to deal with this. The fabric reall is the most important thing to condense and organize.
Why? Here’s the story: As a college student I’m renting a room from my brother. He’s a great roommate and a great friend. He rarely complains about anything and he’s really helping me out, so I try to read between the lines and do what I can to make life easier. I have extra space for my drafting table, art supplies, and sewing, but I really want to figure out how to get it out of the way.
I got my yarn habit under control a while ago. Turns out a great solution to yarn tucked away for years that you never even look at is to send it away with your brother to his office. Let the women there pick it clean, then you’re only left with the stuff you have ideas and time for!
I’m really into restoring and refurbishing old/unfinished furniture(been doing it since the 10th grade), SO NO SUGGESTION IS TOO ELABORATE!
Pictures welcome! I’d love to see your creative solutions. Thanks everyone!
